At Change House Design & Construction we pride ourselves on clarity and communication with our clients from the initial meeting to the completion of a project. It’s with that focus on clarity in mind we have a very structured process that we follow with each home renovation. We don’t want to just work for our clients we want to partner with them to design, implement and finish the renovation of their dreams.
At our initial meeting with a client we go over several topics to lay the groundwork for the project. We begin by discussing the basic scope of the project with all of our clients. Whether it’s a kitchen, bath or addition we want to get your ideas, goals and all around picture of the way you see your renovation coming together. Once the initial scope has been determined, we discuss your budget parameters. We have a very good understanding of the kind of budgets clients should have based on the scope of their projects. It is very important to us that it is clear from the beginning what a client should expect to budget for a project.
Once the scope of work has been determined, types of finishes have been discussed and budget parameters have been, set we move on to the next step in our process.
The most important part of any project is the time spent planning it. With our design service we work on our clients to create a complete blueprint for the entire renovation. Depending on the project our design service provides our clients with the following information prior to ever swinging a hammer.
- Working floor plans
- 3D renderings of renovated spaces
- Help with choosing selection items such as cabinets, tile, doors, trim, etc.
- Finalized costs for all phases of the project including all sub-contractor costs and selections
Change House is highly focused on spending as much time on the front end of a project as needed to hammer out all the details of the project. This ensures that our clients have a fixed price for the project and very few complications once the renovation begins.
Once the plans, selections and all costs have been finalized its time to start the renovation! Change House handles submitting all necessary materials to obtain all permits for a project. Since we work off of a fixed price construction contract structure there may not be any changes throughout your renovation. However, unforeseen items do arise and it is very common to add or take away from the original scope of the work once the renovation begins. We treat all changes as additional work orders, which is where communication with our clients becomes most important. If there is a change to the project during renovations we provide our clients with an additional work order with the cost of the potential changes prior to doing any of the work. We want to make certain that any changes are 100% approved before any of the work is done.
Throughout the renovation our project managers will keep you up to speed on schedule and make sure that any questions or concerns are taken care of right away. Not nipping a potential issue with the project in the bud immediately can only lead to the problem getting worse – and we don’t want that. At the end of the project a project manager will walk the job with you and make a punch list of all remaining items to be taken care of. Once the client signs off on the punch list items and they are wrapped up we hand your home back to you to enjoy.
A home renovation demands structure and that is what you get with Change House Design & Construction’s process.
